She is survived in death by her adoring daughter,Shada Gratton, son-in-law Cameron, grandson Cade, and her fur babies and grand-fur babies. She also leaves behind her ex-husband,one true love, friend and father to her only child,Lee Newell, loving older Sister Mollie Baker as well as loving younger Sister and bother -in-law Carol and Fred Thompson, multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other forms of family and friends, whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her wonderful father and mother,Norman and Juanita Dickerson, precious sister Kathy Barnett and an abundance of family members, friends and several other fur-babies, who were overjoyed to welcome her home. "Jude" was a true example of a no non-sense,hard worker to it's truest form...she graduatedin 1967 from South Oak Cliff High School on a Friday and went to work that following Monday at South Western Bell, where she remained until she retired in 1999. She and Lee were married in 1974 and Shada was born in 1980. And even though she and Lee divorced, they remained close friends,as they promised one another, till the day she passed. She fell in love all over again in 2006 when her grandson Cade was born, whom she cared for daily..never was there ever a better "Mimi".
She loved all of her family greatly and was a very family oriented person who welcomed many family members to live in her home over the years,as well as friends of Shada's and wayward animals..her door was always open and she never asked for anything in return. Never was there a more gentle, loving, selfless soul.
She always had an ear to lend and was literally one of the best listeners there ever was...and gave priceless advice in return. She was not easily angered, always spoke calmly and never had an ugly word to say...advice she shared and .something we should all do. She gave GREAT hugs..wether she just met you or had known you your entire life....the kind of hugs that stayed with you once you left.
You didn't leave her house without one...or with an empty belly. And boy could she cook...she loved what she did and it showed.
She was a woman of faith who looked forward to the everlasting life in heaven, for she knew God was in charge. She is looking down on us now and has taken her spot amongst the angels....
