passed away on Monday, April 5th after a short bout with cancer. Born in Frederick, Maryland on January 10, 1919 to Lola and John Hann, she had recently celebrated her 91st birthday. Judy was a mathematics teacher in Massapequa, New York and then in Highland Park. After retiring in 1985, she contributed more than 5000 volunteer hours at the Baylor University Medical Center. She and her husband, Dick, enjoyed traveling and especially loved their trips to Maine, Vermont, Oregon, Nova Scotia, and Australia. She knit beautiful sweaters and warm afghans for family and friends when she wasn’t reading or working crossword puzzles. She knew, loved, and cared for her birds and her flowers, and she could answer lots of questions about another love - astronomy. It was clear to those who knew her that her greatest love was her family. She and Dick were married for 66 years when he died two years ago. Her daughter, JT, son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Nadine, three granddaughters – Nina, Elaine, and Julia, and one great grandson, Kaleb, survive her. They have always known that one of their greatest gifts was having her in their life.
A memorial celebration will be held this Sunday, April 11th, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Mark’s School of Texas Chapel at 10600 Preston Road, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to contribute to any charity of your choosing.
