Julie Ann Haba was born May 2, 1962 in Dallas, Texas and passed away April 29, 2026 in Medjugorje, BH. She is survived by her five children, Lauren (‘88), Andrea (‘91), John Paul and Thomas (‘95), and Marianna (‘00), and her two grandchildren Araceli (‘11) and Noelle (‘26).
Julie was adopted as an infant by two incredibly loving parents, John and Joan Haba. From a young age, she loved people, exploring, and learning. Her love of learning eventually led her to acquiring her masters in economics. Being encouraged by her parents, friends, and professors, she then pursued a PhD at Texas A&M, but ultimately decided she wanted to marry and have children. She married Robert Rodriguez in 1986, and spent many fulfilling years at home nurturing her family. After her divorce, she returned to her love of learning and became a teacher, eventually running her own business where she instructed kids in her favorite subject, math. Once all of her children were out of the house, and her parents had passed, her adventurous spirit led her to get rid of everything she owned, and move to Medjugorje— a place she had visited ten years prior, fell in love with, and vowed to reside in as soon as possible. She lived her final years there, dedicating her life to learning more about God, exploring the world He created, and loving the people He put in her life. To all who knew her, Julie was a tight hug and a bright smile. She was a best friend to anyone who had 5 minutes. Julie will be deeply missed. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
