Justina G.Ramirez, from Dallas, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the age of 87 years at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Justina was born on September 26, 1931 in Sabinal, Texas, to the late Rafeal H. & Julia (Bocanegra) Gonzalez. She was married to Frank Bernal Ramirez until time of his passing on January 4th, 2000. Justina became a care provider early in life. After her father became ill, she cared for him up until his passing on September 26, 1961.
Justina was a caring and loving wife, mother, and sister, aunt, and grandmother to her large and extended family. She was employed at A&W restaurant in the early 60's in Saginaw, Michigan with her close friend, Mary Hernandez. In the mid 70's, she was a Supervisor at Vlasic Pickle Company in Saginaw, Michigan, and later became a Care Provider for the State of Texas. She was a Jehovah’s Witness since 1975 and demonstrated how great her faith was when she was faced with some very difficult medical decisions. Justina enjoyed traveling to California and Michigan to visit all her family.
She enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, and her favorite player was "Pudge” Rodriguez. She was an avid fan of The Young and the Restless, through the years and we sometimes would jokingly call her “Mrs. Chancellor”, which always made her laugh. She loved all her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and loved to see them and their children as well. She had some unique pets through the years, such as her dogs; Prince, Rusty, and Chico, and those that came to visit know how these animals made her happy.
Surviving Justina are; her daughters, Eleanor, Mary Ann (9na), and Diane, and her sons; Frank, David, Steve, Jose, Arturo, and Roberto, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her son, Rafael Ramirez, her grandson, Michael (Sluggo) Rodriguez III, and her granddaughter Stephanie Ramirez.
Justina was also preceded in death by her bothers: Eulilio, Pablo., Jose, Rafeal, Eulogio Gonzalez, and sisters: Antonia, Rupertha, Guadalupe, Felipa. She used to refer to herself jokingly as the last of the Mohicans, as she was the last surviving member of the (Bocanegra) Gonzalez clan, and she will be sorely missed by many.
A special thank you to Chello Arcinigea Justina Marie Yarger and Alfred Ramirez, Jr. for the special attention and care given to Justina. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Fernando C. Dominguez for being so caring and helpful during these last few years.
Inurnment will take place at Calvary Hill Cemetery on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00a.m. 3235 Lombardy Lane Dallas, Texas 75220
