Katharine Anne Parker

On June 8, 2014, Katharine went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Katharine was born in Dallas and graduated from Highland Park High School and attended Baylor University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

She loved writing, music and singing, and sang in choirs at both HPHS and the Crusader Choir at Park Cities Baptist Church where she was a life long member. Her humor, quick wit, and laughter could light up the room and have everyone laughing. The genuine love and compassion she exhibited for others endeared her to many, and was vividly demonstrated by her loyalty to her family and friends.

Katharine was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank & Mary Parker and Hermon & Erma Anders and her uncle, Charles Dailey. She is survived by her parents, John & Zona Parker; sister and brother-in-law, Meredith & Jake Porter; brother, John Parker; niece and nephews, Ellie, Jack & Will Porter; aunt, Pam Dailey; uncle and wife, Jim & Shari Parker; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Cities Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Warren officiating. A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. A private family graveside service will be at a later date at Grove Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or to Park Cities Baptist Church.
