Katheryn Fowler Lalla

We are saddened at the passing of our mother, Kathryn Lalla on May 18, 2014 at the age of 101. She was born Kathryn Elizabeth Fowler in Natchez, Mississippi, October 9, 1912 to William Howard Fowler and Catherine Eidt Fowler. She and her family moved to Dallas in 1917. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Oscar J. Lalla, Jr, and by her son, Ozzie (Oscar J. Lalla, III). She is survived by her children and their spouses: Kathy Thorn (Ron), Bill Lalla, Rick Lalla (Judi), and Dr. Denise Baskind (Stephen); by her grandchildren and their spouses, Ty Gilmore, Natalie Satarino (David), Katy Lalla, Andy Lalla, Alicia Foster (Jeff), Olivia Davis (Jeff), Daniel Baskind, and Eli Baskind; and by her great-grandchild, Savannah Foster. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by the many friends whose lives she has touched through church and school at St Thomas Aquinas, the Lakewood and Jesuit communities, her retail shops: Lalla's and The Rag Doll, and through her book club and her swimming class at the YMCA. Memorial service at Calvary Hill Chapel, May 24, 2014 at 10 AM. Reception to follow. Donations may be made to Operation Kindness, the SPCA, or the charity of your choice .
