

She was born to the late Carrie and Samuel H. Thomas on July 24, 1927 in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from Tyler High School and married Ronald Burton in 1946. Their 67 year marriage took them to Austin, Big Spring, Eastland, Fort Worth for 25 years, and Dallas for 25 years.
Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother and friend who was known for her bread-making and for being the neighbor you always wanted. Kathy was active in, and frequently a leader of, the PTA, the Rejebian Book Club of Fort Worth, women's clubs, volunteer groups and her church. She was employed by the Fort Worth Independent School System as a substitute secretary and teacher's aide. She was a past president of the Greater Dallas Newcomers Club and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her husband Ronald, daughter Sydney, sister Ruth Hartley of Alexandria, VA, brother-in-law Royce E. Burton of Nacogdoches, TX, nephew Royce Burton, Jr. of Arlington, VA and niece Susanna Hunter of Redmond, WA.
A Funeral Service will be held on June 11 at 2pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas. Visitation will be held on June 10 from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the North Texas Food Bank, 4500 S. Cockrell Hill Road Dallas, TX 75236-2028, www.ntfb.org.
