Kevin Burke, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, passed away on September 3, 2023. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he spent his formative years attending St. John's Episcopal School, Episcopal School of Dallas, and St. Mark's. Kevin's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a graduate degree in Finance and Accounting from The University of Texas, followed by a Master's degree in the same field from The University of Texas, Dallas. He also attained the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
In 1985, Kevin met the love of his life, Kristi Johnson. On their very first date, he introduced her to his family, and forged a bond that would last a lifetime. They married in 1991 and were blessed with two wonderful sons, Ryan and Jared Burke, who inherited their father's remarkable traits. Together, Kevin and Kristi co-operated DMP, a print and document processing company that flourished under their joint efforts.
Kevin's infectious laughter and warm personality extended well beyond his immediate family. His vast network of friends quickly realized that he had a knack for turning strangers into friends. He was known for his genuine interest in others and his ability to make meaningful connections.
An avid enthusiast of various activities, Kevin's passions included soccer, bicycling, snow skiing, and his beloved motorcycle. He approached life with zest and embraced every opportunity to explore new territories and meet new people.
Kevin's large, loving, and tight knit family on both sides will dearly miss him. He is survived by his father and his step-mother, Pat and Sherry Burke, and his siblings Michele Foster, Shannon Burke, Shawn Burke, and Cathleen Villela, along with their spouses. Kevin had a profound impact on his countless nieces, nephews, and cousins, who meant the world to him.
As Kevin embarks on his final journey, he joins his beloved mother, Josephine Burke, and his grandparents Edward and Naomi Burke in eternal rest. He will forever be remembered alongside his namesake uncle, Morris Burke.
Kevin Burke will be remembered for the lasting imprint he left on the lives of those he encountered. He gave true friendship, mentorship, and love to all who knew him. His boisterous laughter and captivating stories will echo in our hearts for years to come.
Ride on into the sunset, our lively hellion. Explore new horizons, and meet new souls. Though he is no longer with us, Kevin will be forever loved and never forgotten.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in Sparkman Memorial Chapel at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas.
