Kim was the daughter of William Wheeler Sharp and Rubylin Slaughter Sharp of Dallas, Texas. Both her parents preceded her in death.
Kim’s family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1962 when she was 6 months old.
While living in Lafayette, she attended Hamilton Elementary School, near the USL campus. Thereafter she attended Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, La. While growing up in Louisiana, Kim learned to play the piano and French horn. She had perfect pitch. She also participated in Girl Scouting, church choir, dance classes, and tennis. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church.
In 1977, her family moved back to Dallas, Tx. Thereafter, Kim attended Hillcrest High School, graduating in 1979. During high school, Kim worked parttime at Dillard’s/Joskie’s department store at North Park mall. She later worked in the hospitality industry, with a long tenure at the Black Eyed Pea restaurant chain, as well as others.
She continued her education at Dallas County Community College and University of Dallas. She then became an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic, working for many years for EMS in Terrell, Tx and Fort Wort, Tx. She was also certified to teach CPR. In this capacity, she was able to help many North Texans and save many lives.
After she retired as an EMT/Paramedic, Kim acted as companion for her mother. As she grew older, Kim experienced significant health issues; however, she continued to enjoy cooking, sharing recipes, pets, sharing posts about pets in need of homes, and staying updated on developments in emergency medicine. She also enjoyed shopping and ordering on line as well as playing games on line. And she was fond of 1960’s and 1970’s era situation comedies such as “Bewitched”, “That Girl”, and “Happy Days”.
Kim is survived by her sister Staci Sharp Johnson, and brother in law Byron Wade Johnson, of Mckinney, Tx., along with her niece Mollie Beatrice Johnson of Galveston, Tx., and nephew Samuel Byron Johnson of Denton, Tx.
MAY SHE REST IN WELLNESS AND PEACE!
