At 16, LaDelle fell for Billy Ray Fuller at Crozier Tech High school. They married in 1946. The couple lived in Shreveport and San Antonio before settling in Austin with their two daughters in 1965.
Gracious and fun-loving, LaDelle enjoyed entertaining family, friends and neighbors. The Fuller home was a favored gathering place and always abuzz.
LaDelle and Bill enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, boating and traveling the country. After Bill’s passing in 1980, LaDelle continued to find great comfort in those hobbies.
In their early childhood, LaDelle cared for the girls at home. Later, she worked for the National Credit Union Administration in Austin, Texas and retired after 25 years of service.
LaDelle married Charles Thomas in 1997. The couple lived in Florida until Charles’ death in September 2013. LaDelle moved to Dallas soon after.
Her daughters and their families survive LaDelle: Susan and Jim Urbanus of Dallas and their children Annie, Grace, Jack, and Christopher (and wife Nichole). Janet and Jim Beneke of Austin and daughters Blair and LauraLea (and husband Parker). Her grandchildren gave LaDelle great joy and she was immensely proud of them.
The family will have a celebration of LaDelle’s life on Friday, January 23rd, 1pm, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, located at 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) are welcome.
