

Larry Dale Holland was born July 6 1953 in Maricopa County, Arizona to Marvin "Jack" Holland and Juanita Rackley Holland. Larry graduated high school in 1971 in Irving Texas. After graduation his father gifted him his beloved 1972 Malibu that he had until his death.
Larry received a degree in Accounting at Dallas Baptist University and later a Doctorate degree in Theology in Louisville, Kentucky. Larry pastored in Russellville, Kentucky before joining the Army as a Chaplin in 1990.
Larry was in the Gulf War, Bosnian War and two deployments in the Iraqi War. He retired in 2010 with 20 years of service.
Larry met his wife Valerie in 2005 at Ft. Jackson while she was on temporary duty station. After Larry retired he moved to North Carolina to be with Valerie and worked at Ft. Bragg as a Suicide Prevention Manager. In 2011 Larry proposed to Valerie in a hot air balloon ride and married in 2012. In 2012 Valerie's job moved them to Grand Prairie, TX where Larry was able to be near his son and daughter. Larry was active in Boy Scouts with grandkids Sawyer and Alexis Holland until his illness prevented him from participating. He loved this time with them and was very proud of them. Larry was later blessed with three more grand children. He loved all of his grandkids dearly.
Larry was preceded in death by his grand parents Alvin and Maggie Holland; Frank and Alma Rackley and In-Laws Leith "Lee" and Theresa Jones.
Larry leaves behind his beloved wife Valerie Jones Holland; his father Marvin "Jack" Holland and mother Juanita Rackley Holland; his son Daniel Holland (Candice); daughter Angela Holland Reedy (Brandon); grandkids Alexis and Sawyer Holland and Benjamin "Ben" Gertman; Caleb, Lillianna and Evangelina Reedy; his sister Darleta Holland Parrish (Jeff); brother Darrell Holland (Wendy). Larry also leaves behind his close friend Ric Kuhlbars and many cousins, nieces and nephews and brother and sisters in-laws.
