Larry Wayne Stivers

Before beginning his ninth-grade year, Larry and his family moved to Mesquite, Texas, where he graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1974. He went on to build a career in the printing industry, serving for many years as a printing press supervisor, a profession he took great pride in throughout his career.

In 1986, Larry married the love of his life, Suzie. Together they shared 37 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Although Suzie preceded him in death, their love remained one of the greatest blessings of his life.

Larry was a devoted father to his daughter, Amber Diebold and her husband, Michael, and his son, Adam Tripp and his wife, Shon. He was an incredibly proud PaPa to his five beloved grandchildren: Savannah Saipaia and her husband, Diego; Logan Diebold; Elijah Diebold; Kaya Tripp; and Jacob Diebold. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren thrive.

Larry embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. He loved being outdoors, spending time fishing, taking road trips with the country music turned up, and relaxing with old westerns. A proud Oklahoman at heart, he always referred to Oklahoma as "God's Country." He was a lifelong fan of the Texas Rangers, the University of Oklahoma Sooners, and the Dallas Cowboys, faithfully cheering them on through every season, even the difficult ones. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing disc golf and first base in a softball league.

A true craftsman, Larry learned from his father how to repair automobiles, build furniture, and tackle just about any home improvement project. He had a strong work ethic, an appreciation for doing things the right way, and a willingness to help others whenever he could.

Larry also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially Shelties. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Ernest T., whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy.

Those who knew Larry will remember his easygoing nature, quick sense of humor, endless patience, and unwavering optimism. He had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, offer encouragement, and find joy in the simple moments of everyday life. More than anything, Larry loved life and the people fortunate enough to share it with him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzie Stivers, and his parents, Jimmy and Betty Stivers.

Larry's legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, extended family, dear friends, and Ernest T., whose life was brighter because of Larry's love. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

Larry will be honored at a Funeral Service at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 on July 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228 on July 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
