For many years, Laura touched the lives of countless students as a teacher in Garland, Dallas, and the Ferris Independent School District, where she taught both elementary and intermediate levels. Laura's former students fondly remember her as a tall, soft-spoken woman with immense patience. One former fifth grade student shared, "l never saw her get angry. Her patience was like no other, and that is something I will never forget about her."

Laura will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering patience, qualities that made her a beloved mother, wife, teacher, and friend. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, her students, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Waguespack; her children, Mark Messer and Lynn Messer; and many other family members and friends.
