He was a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran who trained and served as a radar specialist. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He furthered his education at Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, obtaining a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and his Professional Engineering License. His professional career specialized in radar equipment technology, working on various defense projects all over the United States.
After his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, he married Cecilia Kornides of Latrobe, PA and they had six children. He had an innate talent for building and repairing all things structural, mechanical and electrical. He enjoyed classical music, woodworking, outdoor cooking, and family camping trips.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Cecilia, daughter Mary and son Lawrence.
He is survived by his sister, four daughters, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
