Lawrence Joseph Svehlak, 84 passed away at 5:40 am on July 3, 2024 in his home with his wife by his side. He was born on November 5, 1939 in Ennis TX to Stanley Joseph Svehlak and Marie Ann Svehlak. He spent his childhood having a wonderful time with his four siblings playing and working on the family farm. In high school, Lawrence was a Star football player for The Ennis Lions and was class president. This small town environment formulated Lawrence’s true love of the simple things in life.
After high school graduation, he attended North Texas State University on a football scholarship. He played football there for four years and made many friends in his fraternity. After graduation, he started work in Dallas, TX and was out one night with the boys and met the love of his life at Ray’s Blue Note. Their first date was to the opening day baseball game of the Texas Rangers on April 21, 1972. His love of sports continued throughout his life.
Lawrence and Linda were married on October 27, 1973 and lived in Dallas TX for the rest of his life. They became parishioners of Christ The King Catholic Church. Life was wonderful for them and they enjoyed playing golf at Lakewood Country Club, traveling to their condominium in Clearwater Florida and spending many great nights and days at their Lakehouse on Cedar Creek Lake. He was always happy and never cross with anyone. He truly always saw only the good in people and was a wonderful husband and friend.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Linda, two sisters Nancy Valek and Marie Shurden (Herman), one brother Kenneth Svehlak (Sue) and nieces Jane Svehlak, Patsy Richards, and Susie Kiker, nephew Bill Svehlak and many cousins. He was extremely fond of his helper Maria Perez.
His Mass of Christian burial will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery in the mausoleum North Chapel on July 18, 2024 at 11 AM, with interment to follow.

Lawrence is in God’s hands and enjoying his time with his brother, Stanley Svehlak and other members of his family. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
