Dad, you were a wonderful father who was always there for me. 
Often we'd have long, philosophical talks about the meaning of Life and “why”…
Or we would talk about a problem I was having, and you always had good advice.    
Some of your gems that shaped my life were:
 “I believe that people mean well;  give them the benefit of the doubt”.
“Treat people like you would want to be treated”.
“Always do the right thing”.
AND “This too, shall pass”.
Dad, I will miss your sense of humor. You could always tell a joke well. And you also somehow taught me how to laugh at myself. I loved how you enjoyed my children Alan and Elaine and found so much humor with them, too.

You were a very important role model for me growing up, and I will always be grateful for everything that you have taught me.  I learned not only my love of news and current events, but more importantly how to think and analyze all of this information on our many walks and hikes together.  I developed most of my sense of humor from you, and learned how to "take a joke".  I have always respected your quiet, but strong, friendly demeanor and I hope I emulate that now.

I'm going to miss you, but I am happy that you are back together again with Nanee.

Larry was the most special person in my life.  Struggliny in Memphis with a sick wife I went to inview with GP during the week after Christmas 1973.  There I met my mentor and after a great interview he offer me a job in Houston, Texas.  I nearly jumped over his desk as I was so stunned.  He continued to push me a long in life and help me keep my chin up in the tough times that go with the building material business.  After retirement  my wife and I along with Janet and Gibson either went to dinner or visited Lois and Larrys in their home.  Larry was a man of few words and when he spoke everyone listened.  He was fair, honest and respected by his Managers.  For his time he was a Gaint among men.  God Bless  Harvey Grasty

Larry was the most special person in my life.  In 1973 really out of work and a sick wife I went to interview for an opening wih GP.  It was the week between the Chistmas holidays.  Larry gave me a great interview and offer me a job on the spot.  That was the beginning of a special frienship with a Mentor who help push me along the walk of life.  He was a man of few words and when he spoke every Manager in the room listened.  Later after retiring my wife and I along with Gibson and Janet spent my hours either visiting in their home or dining with Larry and Lois.  He was honest fair and trusting with his men and all had a lasting respect for a walking giant of our times.  God Bless  Harvey Grasty

Larry Trammel was one of those men whom we younger "guns" really admired.  He was just that quiet, strong straight shooter who we thought was fair and no-nonsense.  I remember asking him his advice on how to handle my then boss, Ron Hogan, since Larry had been Ron's boss.  He was very kind and helpful.  I bought the .45 but never used it...
Seriously, our country will miss guys like LT -- Gator and Gibster said it well.

Grandaddy will be greatly missed. He was such a caring and kind man with a great sense of humor. I remember how he would enjoy watching Michael and myself play during various Christmas vacations that we spent with them. He would quietly tease us and tell us tall tales, like the time he killed a lion with his bare hands when he was on safari in Africa; or the time he saved Davy Crockett from getting shot at the Alamo! Some of his stories I believed well into adulthood! The last time I saw Grandaddy was this Thanksgiving on the iPad, where you can video chat in real time. He got to meet his great grandchildren, Kai and Asa. Kai was very pleased to meet Grandaddy and put on his special spider costume accordingly. Kai then sang him "incy wincy spider" Which brought such a smile to Grandaddy's face. 
We love you and will miss you greatly.

Grandad Larry was a kindred spirit of mine. I only had a few trips to visit him in Dallas, but even in the short time we spent together I witnessed a man I could easily look up too and admire for his way of being. He always seemed at ease and very comfortable with himself. This confidence seemed to uplift those around him and bring a steadiness to his home. I'll always remember the wink in his eye, and the subtle way he shared his love. You will be missed Grandad.

When I think of my Uncle Larry I think of his wit, his charm, his kindness, dry sense of humor and his stern guidance he gave me as a young man. Fun rounds of golf and his patience to listen to a young boy then provide wisdom and guidance are something that will live with me forever. Love, Anthony Cooper McGuire.

Larry was my boss for fifteen years at G-P, he was all ways fair and direct.  I 
was fortunate to play golf and hunt with him some.  He was a top notch person in every way.

One of the men I have admired in my lifetime was my Uncle Larry.  He was a shrewd business man, loved a good game of golf and could cook a great pot of chili (I was lucky enough for him to give me his recipe).  Uncle Larry had a dry wit that we all enjoyed and he was devoted to all of his family.  I have often looked back and admired his patience for it could not have been easy living in a house with four daughters and a wife but he did it without blinking a eye or missing a beat. I was fortunate to work for Larry and to know him as a boss and a friend.  He was a man of great integrity and a true gentleman. We all looked to him for leadership and he was a wonderful role model. I am saddened by his passing and hope he and Jim are having a fond reunion in heaven.

Larry Trammel was my "Hero".  He was a mentor who was respected by all who worked for him.  I know I personally learned a lot in working for him, as did many others as well.  As it is said, He gained respect and admiration the old fashioned way--"He earned it".  I know He will be greatly missed by all.

We are so very sorry to hear of Uncle Larry passing. He was a wonderful person and had a great sense of humor.  All of you are in my thoughts.
