

Lawrence "Larry" B. Trammel, 88, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Feb. 5th, 2013 at his residence. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, mentor and friend to all who knew and loved him. He was a man of great honor and integrity.
He was born in Flagstaff, Arizona, on September 10, 1924, to Lawrence and Catherine Wright Trammel. After serving 2 tours of duty in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII, including service on the destroyer U.S.S. Eaton, he returned stateside. After college and business school studies, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and U.S. Plywood, then built a successful career at Georgia Pacific over 33 years before retiring as Regional Vice President.
Larry married Lois McGuire in 1947, raised four daughters and enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 58 years. They enjoyed dancing together, playing golf with their many friends, and exciting vacations abroad. The family were members of Central Congregational Church in Dallas.
Survivors include his daughters Phyllis Trammel Tippins, Lorna Newton, Carol Trammel and Janice Trammel; brother Jerry Trammel, and sisters Sue Wingfield and Gloria McKeever; grandchildren Rebekah Firth, Michael Newton, Alan Tippins and Elaine Tippins; and great-grandchildren Kai Firth and Asa Firth. He was preceded in death by Lois E. Trammel in 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com.
