Lee H. Washabaugh 89 passed away February 2, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA. Lee was born December 21 1922 in Philadelphia, PA to Neil and Lena (Harkin) Haggerty. Her mother passed away from complations from child birth and her father raised her with the help of her aunt. She attended private catholic schools and enjoyed playing hide and seek in the huge brownstone where she was raised. She met Charlie and they were married in 1943, they would celebrate the day of their marriage every month on the 14th right up until his death. Thier daughter Barbara was born in 1948 followed by a son Chip in 1960. Lee was very active at St. Pius X in the rosary society as well as working at Doctor's Hospital as a floor secretary. In 1983 Charlie became sick and they held hands and continued walking the path together until his passing. She moveed to California in 1984 to be closer to her daughter Barbara. In 1993 her son Chip passed away. She began doing TV commercials at the age of 75 and appeared in the first commercial of the 1998 Super Bowl. About 10 yeras ago she began to lose the memories her lifetime had created and she bravely reling=quished her independence. Caring for my mother was not my responsibility but my privilage. Now almost 29 years after Charlies death, she has reached for his hand and will share "their" pathe again. I will miss her and daddy and Chip every day of my life but know they will guide my steps and holdd the light as I turn the pages of the book.
