Leland W Carter born September 8, 1929 went home to see the Lord on Saturday May 28, 2016. Leland Carter was a graduate of Tulsa University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, in addition he was a graduate of SMU Law School. Most importantly he served his country as an Air Force fighter pilot in the Korean War where Lt. Carter served for 5 years. Lt. Carter worked in the oil and gas business where he served as President of Mitchell Energy. During his tenure at Mitchell Energy, he was also inducted into YPO; The Young President’s organization where he met many of his closest friends. After several successful years at Mitchell he started his own company Carter Energy where he worked the rest of his career. Leland is survived by his wife of 59 years Eunice Carter; daughters Kathy Carter, Karen Carter-Hughes, grandchildren Stephen Christopher Hughes, Amber Nicole Hughes, Jonathan Carter Hughes, and nephew Stan Carter. Visitation will be held at Sparkman\Hillcrest on Tuesday, May 31, from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, at 2pm.
