My sister Mary Helen and I grew up in Snyder, Texas with this young man. He was always kind to us and treated me like a little sister since I was much younger. It’s been many years since I had seen him but when I ran into him many years ago in Dallas and he still had that friendly smile I always remembered!! Rest in Heaven my dear friend from my family to yours. The Goosby Girls🙏

My name is Minister Paul Barnes and Jake and I considered ourselves the best of friends. And I knew him well enough to know that he want me to stand and have something to say but God has given me another platform thru social media. And I'm reminded of what Jesus said when He healed a man born blind. He said I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is still day for night time is coming when no man can work. And also another scripture that says the work of God is to believe in Himself the one whom God has sent. My primary concern for such a time as this is did a person do the work. And I believe he did thru some of the conversations we had. Jake and I go a long way back and I'm reminded of something he did back in high school. Not only was he a very intelligent man but he also was a good football player. One day in practice the coach thought he hit the ball carrier a little too hard so he decided to teach Jake a lesson by being the ball carrier. He told him which way he was coming and wanted Jake to tackle him and he was going to try to run over him. He came thru the hole and Jake hit him and took him down. He did it again and Jake took him down again. He did it the third time and Jake hit him BAM and started pumping his legs and drove him to the ground. Well, it was a lesson taught that day but Jake taught it. In closing I would just like to say to the family that God is the God of ALL comfort who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort those with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. Sometimes it's hard to receive that comfort and it may take a little time but weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. For me family this is not goodby but it's duce's, and I'm holding up two fingers, I'll see you later.
