Lenora Williamson was born on March 18, 1934, in Canton, TX to the parentage of the late Oscar and Rosie Shamlin.
She received her education in Canton, TX. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and attended North Park CME Church until her health declined.
Lenora was united in marriage to Fred Williamson Jr., on May 3, 1953, and to the union four children were born, 2 sons Larry and Fred Williamson III, 2 daughters, Marilyn Williamson and Debra Jones.
Lenora will leave behind a loving legacy. Her home was a sanctuary of love, and warmth. She showed her testament to the power of kindness by helping her neighbors who were in need, as well as cooking and feeding those who needed a meal. She had many passions, but she was most passionate about being a caregiver, not only to her children, and grandchildren but to other children who also needed a safe place while their parents worked. She balanced her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished caregiver. Lenora has left a mark on the lives of everyone she cared for; her spirit will forever remain in the heart of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceding her in death is (husband), Fred Williamson, Jr., (son) Larry Donnell Williamson, (sister) Rosie Lee Green, (5 brothers), T.A. Shamlin, Oscar Shamlin Jr., Tommy B. Shamlin, Lennell Shamlin, and Billy Shamlin.
Lenora leaves to cherish three children: Marilyn Williamson (Bobby), Debra Jones (Vernon), and Fred Williamson III. Grandson whom she raised from the age of two: Trev’yon Jabar Williamson, four other grandsons, seven granddaughters, 20 great-grandchildren, fourteen great great-grandchildren, two sisters, Darlene and Marlene Shamlin, two brothers, Jerry and Charles Shamlin, along with a host of other relatives and close friends.
A visitation for Lenora will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
A funeral service will occur Monday, July 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at North Park CME Church, 6725 Tyree St, Dallas, TX 75209.
A committal service will occur Monday, July 7, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
