

She graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1944 and attended Draughon’s Business College in Dallas.
She married Daniel Mikusek in Pilot Point on September 3, 1949, was employed as an executive secretary for Haber Fabrics Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 2004.
Leona was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church since 1954 when moved from Dallas to Irving. There she was a member of the Altar Society of St. Luke, Catholic Daughters, and a charter member of St. Luke Silver Seniors.
She is preceded in death by husband Daniel Mikusek, son Paul Mikusek, son Mark Mikusek, daughter Lisa Howard, son John Mikusek, brother Leonard Berend and sister Christone Schon.
She is survived by daughter Janet Hill and husband Mike Hill , son Eric Mikusek, daughter in law Sandra Mikusek, daughter in law Debbie Mikusek and son in law Clint Howard.
Also survived by a sister Bertha Broach of Coppell and brother Virgil Berend of Pilot Point.
She is survived by nine grandchildren Brian Mikusek, Lauren Dickinson, Jason Coffey, Jera Domnitz, Cali Mikusek, Matthew Mikusek, Jeffery Mikusek, Nicholas Howard and Micki Hill and six great grandchildren Michael Coffey, Brooklyn Domnitz, Kaitlyn Domnitz, Jonathan Domnitz, Lillie Mikusek, and Abbie Dickinson.
A visitation for Leona will be held October 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220. Rosary will begin at 6:30pm. A mass of Christian burial will occur October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Hill Main Mausoleum North Chapel. A committal service will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
