

Leonard Howard Brewer was born May 22, 1929, in Forney, Texas, to Leola and Tobe Brewer. Leonard at the age of four was raised by his father, Tobe after the passing of his mother at a young age. Unfortunately, his father passed away, a few years after his mother, leaving Leonard and his sister, Louise to be raised by family members. Leonard did not want to be apart from his sister but his brother, Barry and wife, Burnadine decided to raise Leonard along with their children.
He attended public school in Forney, Texas. Leonard was drafted into the United States Marines and was wounded in the Korean War. He received a Purple Heart Medal for his service to his country.
Leonard was a man of many talents but most of all he loved his family. He was hardworking and provided for his children and family. Leonard was blessed with seven children, four sons, Harry, Carl, Michael, Timothy and three daughters, Brenda, Linda and Patricia.
Leonard’s faith in God at an early age is what allowed him to be blessed with a full and long life because he trusted his Lord and Savior, being the oldest and last child living. He was a member at St. Luke United Methodist Church of Dallas.
Leonard Howard Brewer passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at VA Medical Center of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and son, Harry.
Those left to forever cherish and remember Leonard’s Life and Legacy, his children, Carl Brewer (Dalena), Michael Brewer, Timothy Brewer, Brenda Holmes, Linda Brewer and Patricia Kennedy; twenty grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
