Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Leroy M. Cochran and Marguerite Renaud Cochran, His wife, whom he married on January 16, 1960, Patricia Lazenby Cochran. Their marriage lasted for 49 years until Pat was called home 18 days shy of their 50th anniversary. He was also preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Sharp and his nephew Erik Sharp.
Mr. Cochran is survived by his daughter Deborah (George) Franklin of Dallas and their children Elle Franklin of Dallas and Marguerite Franklin (Wes) of McMinnville, Oregon and his precious great granddaughter, Liesel of Oregon. Granddaughters Donna Goodman (Patrick), Barbara Elizabeth Townely-Cochran (Ryan) and Collen all of Dallas. He is also survived by his nieces, Lesley Sharp of Massachusetts and Paula Sharp of Florida.
After his high school graduation, Lee entered the US Navy and served on the US Midora as a Signalman at the end of WWII. Upon discharge from the Navy, he enrolled at The University of Texas and received a Bachelor's degree in Business. He then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Education at the University of North Texas. Mr. Cochran spent the next 30 years teaching advanced and honors history classes in the Dallas ISD at Sunset High School and North Dallas High School. After his retirement in 1990 , he served on the Richardson ISD school board for 6 years.
