Leta Ruth Lassetter, age 94, passed away October 29, 2019 in Dallas. Leta was born August 19, 1925 in Dallas to Ruth and Bryon Bates. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Elaine, and her husband of 68 years. Frank Lee Lassetter. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation, she worked in the business world until age 80. For 51 years she was a private secretary for Abbott Sparks at Petroleum Engineer Publishing Company until her retirement. In younger years she enjoyed knitting, handwork and dancing.
Later she enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. She and her husband retired and moved to Grace Presbyterian Village now known as The Villages of Dallas.
Leta is survived by her sister, Jane Goode of Colleyville; sister in law, Billy Bates of Dallas; nephews, Randy Bates (Laura) of Missouri and Gary Goode (Brenda) of Boyd; nieces, Cindy Pryor of Ft Worth, Ruth Ann Johnson (Wes) of Ohio and Janet Goode of California; and 12 great nieces and nephews and 13 great, great nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at The Villages of Dallas, 550 E. Ann Arbor in Dallas at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6.
