Mrs. Philpot was born on July 24, 1935 in Mabank, Texas to the predeceased Jake Eaton and Florence (Brown) Eaton. In 1955, she married her sweetheart, James Kenneth Philpot.
In 1960 Mr. & Mrs. Philpot opened "Mr. K's Appliances," and operated it for several decades. She ran the front office and enjoyed visiting with customers. She loved going to church and attended regularly. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Philpot; a sister, Anna Mae Woods; a brother, Newt Eaton; and a daughter, Patricia Ann Ross.
Mrs. Philpot is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Darline Philpot of Sunnyvale; a sister, Patty R. Miller of LaRue; brother, Ruben Jake Eaton of Sherman, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Grove Hill Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 2 p.m.
