Mrs. Lillie Maude (Payne) McKenzie

Lillie graduated with honors from James Madison High School in Dallas, Texas class of 1959. After graduation she went on to Bishop College obtaining enough credits to equate an Associate’s degree. She initially pursued a career as a Mortgage Adjustor for Prudential Insurance Company. She later pursued a career as an Interior Decorator with Home Interiors & Gifts.

She was very active in various school PTA’s as well as her home church along with their district affiliation. Some of her hobbies included crossword puzzles as well as watching sports and the Olympic Games.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mable White, Lairy Payne, and Morris Payne, Sr.

She leaves to mourn her passing: husband, Robert E. McKenzie; son, Robert L. McKenzie and his wife Tawanda; daughter, Melanie McKenzie-Jobe and her husband Clint; three grandchildren, Tiarra Howard and her husband Gary, Darion Lewis, and Jordan McKenzie; four great grandchildren, Trinity Howard, Gary Howard III, Bentlee O’Neal, and Daytron Love; brother, Clarence Payne and his wife Glenda; seven nieces and nephews, Brenda Payne, Linda Payne, Jason Payne, Rosalyn White, Adrien Payne, Kimberlin Hetherington and her husband Steven, and Jonathan Payne; four grandnieces and grandnephews, Albert C. Nunley, Nicholas E. Johnson, Lydia Hetherington, and Jordan Payne; and godson, Derrick Jackson and his wife Kenesha.
