Lillie Bell Bryant Steward was born on May 15, 1938, in Carthage, Texas in Panola County to the parents of the late Arby Bryant and Allie Ruth Bryant. She graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carthage, Tx.
After moving to Dallas Lillie met Leon Steward and entered holy matrimony. She also continued her. education and received her associate degree at Mountain View College. Lillie worked at Margie’s Department Store, and she retired from Bank One
Lillie accepted Christ and was a faithful and devoted member of Greater Ideal Missionary Baptist Church for a number of years under the leadership of Pastor, L. D. Thomas. Lillie was a Sunday School teacher and women’s ministry teacher and served wherever needed. After leaving Greater Ideal, Lillie joined the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor. George W. Pryor and immediately continued being a servant leader. She joined Sunday School, the Mission and the Follow-Up Committee Ministry. Lillie went to church to learn God's Word so she could take it outside of the walls of the building. A woman with a beautiful smile and warm and welcoming personality was faithful to her mission for God until her health failed last year.
On Friday, March 27, 2026, Lillie Bell Steward answered the call from her Lord and Savior. She was welcomed by her parents, Arby and Allie Bryant; husband, Leon Steward; daughter, Sandra Kay Winkley-Pikes; two brothers, Willie D. Bryant and Hugh Bryant and sister, Arbie Jones
Lillie leaves to cherish her memories, son, Randy Steward (Debra); daughter, Karen Evans-Steward; son, Anthony Majors (Kawanna); stepson, Wendell Hart; granddaughter, Dominique Evans; grandson, Derek Winkley, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Aubree; niece, Carolyn Bryant; two nephews, Caster Dell Bryant and Alvin Jones and a host of relatives and friends.
