With profoundly heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Linda Basquez. She was a force of nature whose fierce spirit, unwavering stubbornness, and boundless love left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 3, 2025.
Born in the small West Texas town of Bronte, Linda came into the world already determined to do things her way. From a young age, it was clear she was not built for the ordinary. She lived boldly and was never afraid to challenge the rules.
Linda’s curiosity and adventurous spirit took her across the globe to countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Spain, France, England, Italy, Portugal, Colombia, and Mexico. She immersed herself in these rich cultures and collected close friends every step of the way.
She loved deeply and never let fear make her small. She had an extraordinary way of making strangers feel like family and turning everyday moments into lasting memories. Her warmth was magnetic, her laughter contagious, and her courage an inspiration.
Linda took great pride in her 25+ years of service as a federal civil servant, as well as her dedicated work with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the American Heart Association, and advocacy organizations including LULAC and IMAGE.
She is survived by her daughters Suzanne and Frances, her son-in-law Philip, granddog Massimo and an abundance of friends and family who will tell her stories, carry her legacy, and her strong spirit forward.
Join us to celebrate Linda’s extraordinary life at a funeral mass on May 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Reception to follow. Bring your best Linda story – she would hate a boring party!
