OBITUARY

Rev. Dr. Linda L. Kinard

March 2, 1939January 6, 2021

Linda Louise Kinard, was born Linda Louise White to the late Claude and Viola White, on March 2, 1939, in Holly Grove, Arkansas. Linda was the youngest of 9 children and accepted Christ at a young age. Linda left Holly Grove to pursue a college education at Philander Smith College in North Little Rock, Arkansas. While in college, she married Samuel Seward Sr. and graduated with a degree in Education. To that union, she was blessed with three children, Kim, Samuel(Bud), and Pat(Mona). Linda and family later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. While raising her children, she taught school for 42 years and was Principal for her last few years of educating. She also, worked in the church as the Sunday school Superintendent teacher, VBS Teacher and served on many church committees over the years. Her main concern was to raise her children, to know the Lord, and to ensure that they completed college and become productive citizens. Linda later married James H. Kinard and they have been married for 40 years. Her fondest memories were frequently sitting around the house with James and discussing the word of God. It was the simple things that brought her joy like merely getting in the car on a Sunday afternoon, riding with James to the country, and yes frequent stops at the Casino. (LOL) Linda was considered quite the creator as well as a visionary, designer, carpenter, writer, counselor and chief motivator. Her passion of course was indeed sewing. Never has anyone been able to take nothing and create something the way she did it, and always with a style to be envied by most. “Oh could she dress!” She never let the grass grow under her feet. As a designer, Linda again put her creative skills on display remodeling several homes into places of beauty. Linda loved to create. She also was an entrepreneur, a smart businesswoman owning numerous businesses. Later in life, she discovered that she loved to travel to new places and it became very difficult to keep up with her. It can be said that her greatest passion was loving and serving God, loving her family and evangelizing the Gospel. Linda believed in education and worked hard to acquire many post graduate degrees including Master’s degrees in Education and Theology and a Doctorate in Ministry. She absolutely loved talking about Jesus and went to great measures to lead anyone to Christ who was willing to listen. She didn’t mind looking across the table at I-Hop or Golden Coral and asking someone, “Are You Saved?” She not only stood on the word, but she literally lived it. Her position was that “if God said it, that settles it.” She later, served as associate minister, at Living Faith Community Fellowship, and pastored, Agape House, in Garland. Although she’s not physically with us, we know that the Holy scriptures teach that “absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”; Cherishing the life and memory of Linda Louise Kinard are her beloved husband James Kinard; daughter, Kim Duncan (Douglas), son, Samuel E Seward Jr. (Vivian), and daughter, Mona Taylor. Clifton Dale Taylor Sr. (Son in Love) Seven Grandchildren (Clifton Jr., Erika, Alex, Patricia, Trey, Sydnee, and Lynda). Great Grandchild, Deion Jones. Brothers, Robert White (Gloria), and Rufas White(Earlene). Caretaker Sandra Green for 7 years and Yvette Gray for 2 years. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters (Claudine, Thenolia, Willie Benolia Lucas) and 2 brothers (Clarence and John). She leaves behind a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
