It is with extreme sadness that Jim Plaga announces the passing of his wife Linda C. Saxton on February 28, 2022, after a ten month battle with brain cancer. Linda passed peacefully in her sleep in her home where she was surrounded by loved ones.
The daughter of Alex Jay Claunch and Mary Ann Chandler, Linda grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, with her brother Dick Claunch and her sister Debbye Ferguson.
Linda inherited three sons; Jim Plaga, Jr., Jeffrey Plaga and Jeremiah Daniel Plaga, along with three daughters-in-law Kim Plaga, Christian Plaga and Brandi Stewart. Linda was blessed with three granddaughters, Gabi Plaga, Lana Stewart and Madison Plaga, along with one grandson, Maddox Plaga. Linda was so proud of her granddaughters and all the trips and weekends that they planned and spent together. The grandchildren were the love of her life.
Linda was a go-getter and received a degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas while attending classes at night. Linda worked for GTE and Verizon in the Financial Planning and Analysis Department. In 1994 Linda took the position of Compensation Manager in the Human Resources Department at Verizon, at which she excelled until her retirement in 2008. Never missing a day of work ,Linda started her new career as a Compensation Manager at ACS ,which became Xerox, which became Conduit ,until her retirement in 2021.
Linda was very passionate of the charity work that she performed. She was most proud of the 12 years she served as Director of the Teen Youth Build for Collin County Habitat for Humanity. Linda loved working with the young high school students. She was always in awe of the many innovative ways that the students developed to raise funds for the construction of the house.
In her free time Linda loved to travel the world. She traveled to almost every Caribbean island nation, along with her travels to Mexico, Spain, France, Italy, Bosnia, Croatia, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.
Linda was an amazing woman who touched the hearts of many people and will be sorely missed
