A Graveside Service with social distancing will be held on Tuesday, July 14th, at 10am, at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
Faye was born in Bozeman, Montana to Alvin and Beryl Cowan on September 21, 1937. She grew up on the family ranch in Montana’s Gallatin Valley and graduated from Manhattan High School. She went on to graduate with a nursing degree from Montana State University. She married Gene Racht on July 19, 1958, at Holy Rosary in Bozeman, Montana. Faye and Gene started their married life in Indiana, where all of their children were born, and she also taught kindergarten and worked as a nurse throughout much of that time.
Faye and her family moved to Dallas in 1972, where she worked as a registered nurse at Doctors Hospital for many years. It was always in Faye's nature to care for others. She was a long-time member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Dallas. Faye kept busy supporting her children's activities as they were growing up. She was a Campfire Girls leader, served on the booster club, and worked as an elementary school nurse. She also enjoyed playing cards with her bridge group, and spending time with special friends. The best memories are of the summer family vacations to the ranch in Montana.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Racht, her daughter, Jennifer Racht Johnson (Charles), and an infant son, Michael, as well as by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Faye is survived by her daughters Julie Eddins (David) and Janine Mason (Michael), and her son Brad Racht (Missy), along with 9 grandchildren, Matthew Eddins, McKenzie Rollinson, Cody Rollinson, Kristina Johnson, Taylor Johnson Rapstine, Rachel Johnson, Tyson Racht, Braden Racht, and Ryan Racht, and 3 great-grandchildren, Adelynn, Kenley, and Brantley Rapstine, as well as her sister, Judy Galle of Billings, Montana.
