

Lloyd Randall Shelby, age 9, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2016 at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas from a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. Lloyd was born on February 2, 2007 to Randall Shelby and Mollie Hawkins Shelby. He was an angel from God from the day he was born, and is now one in Heaven. He was loved by all; his kind demeanor, the smile that drew you in, the curiosity that kept you engaged and the passion that left you with a memory. He was a blessing in a manner that was so innocent and pure. He made this world such a bright and happy place for all that came into contact with him. A natural born showman, he loved to perform and tell a good story. His uncanny sense of humor attracted kids of all ages and adults, as well. His infectious laugh made others laugh instantlyand Lloyd knew it. Lloyd was a student in third grade at Christ the King, where he had attended since Kindergarten. He played every sport he had the opportunity to play, but he especially liked playing soccer, baseball and flag football. He also loved watching the Texas Rangers and all Indy and NASCAR racing. His favorite vacation spot was Hawaii where he grew to be passionate about surfing. Lloyd loved video games, Legos, anything that involved sugar, and Mexican food. The Shelby Ranch in Llano was a very special place for Lloyd, where he loved to spend quality time with his parents and go fishing with his dad. Lloyd is survived by his parents, Randall and Mollie; his paternal grandparents, Sandra Shelby, Pat Shelby and his wife, Bonnie; his maternal grandparents, Jim and Andree Hawkins; his aunts and uncles, Aaron and Brooke Shelby, Shawn and Rita Shelby, Clayton Tucker, Matt and Samantha Hawkins and Walt and Laura Suberg; cousins Larsen Shelby, Pierce Shelby and Kendrick Hawkins; and countless other relatives and close friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75225. A reception will follow immediately in the Church Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, The Lloyd R. Shelby Memorial Fund (5535 SMU Blvd #200 Dallas, TX 75206) has been set up to fund medical research and scholarships.
