“I’M KICKING BUT NOT HIGH, FLOPPING BUT CAN’T FLY, HOPPING, BUT I AIN’T STOPPING”
If you knew Sweet Mama a.k.a Mother Malone, you undoubtedly received this greeting!
Lois attended Cameron public schools and joined the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Maysfield at an early age, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She married James Lee Rose on October 2, 1949. To this union was born Jerutha Gene of Dallas and Gloria Lavon of Lancaster. She later married Hubert Henry Malone on October 16, 1955. To this union was born Patricia Lynell of Dallas, Alecia Louise of Lancaster and three lovely bonus daughters Joyce Hammond (Leon) of Houston; Verdie Sadberry of DeSoto and Gwendolyn Holloway (Reginald) of Spring, TX.
Lois worked as a nurse’s aide for over 40 years. The majority of that time was at Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Texas. She was an active member of The Potter’s House of Dallas under the Pastorship of Bishop T.D. Jakes, and served with the Golden Vessels, Bishop’s Choir, Usher Board and Bereavement Ministry. She loved sewing, working word puzzles and when she was younger driving fast up and down hills in her baby blue Volkswagen beetle to the delight of her children, grandchildren, and nieces. Lois loved, loved, loved her family!!! Being with her God given family and her church family brightened her spirits and her heart at each and every gathering.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Hubert Green, Fedrick Green, Sedrick Green, and Charles Green; sisters: Ada Page and Louis Rivers; son-in-law: Willie Lee Anderson; grandson Donny LaRay Anderson, and other relatives.
She leaves to cherish her in their hearts, brothers: Booker Green (Shirley), Israel Green and Eugene Green; sisters Luberta Green, Anner Simpson, Valera Rockwell, and Barbara Benjamin (Arnold); daughters: Jerutha Sabbath, Gloria Anderson, Patricia Crawford and Alecia Malone; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and many other nephews, nieces, relatives and close friends.
I LOVE YOU VIP; I LOVE YOU VOP; I LOVE YOU MORE THAN A HOG LOVES SLOP AND I AIN’T GONE STOP!
