Lonnie Edward Starks

Lonnie graduated from Park High School. He later relocated to Dallas, TX and furthered his education at El Centro Community College. He worked at the Dallas VA Hospital as a radiology tech until his retirement.

Lonnie was a loving husband to Ora Starks with whom he shared over 40 years of partnership and a devoted father to children Lonnie Thompson and Regina Dixon. Though having a quiet and reserved personality, his generous heart spoke volumes. He enjoyed music, comedy, tv, playing checkers, and the comfort of home.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Jessie Cook (“Momma”), his parents Henry Starks and Ora Hamilton, and his brother Henry Allen Starks. He is survived by his wife Ora Starks; children Lonnie Thompson and Regina Dixon; grandchildren LehLauney Thompson and Jalyn Dixon; sisters Barbara Moss (Joe Moss) of Lancaster, TX, Judy Washington of Henderson, TX, Marion McAlister (Hill) of Dayton, OH, brother Norman Starks (Rosemary Starks) of Hesperia, CA; a host of nieces and nephews, other family, and friends.
