

Loreta Snowden, 91 passed away September 16,2019 in Dallas. She was born on July 3,1928 to Smiley Pleasant Mitchell and Lucinda Darcus York Mitchell. She was a 1946 graduate of Emory High School (now Rains High School) and a resident of Dallas since 1948 when she was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired from AT&T in 1987. She was married to Curtis Durwood Snowden on January 7,1950. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, siblings, Winifred Jones, Geraldine Risner, Howard "Buck" Mitchell, Grover Mitchell, Evelene Mitchell, Winona Risner, Ivan Mitchell and Luella Nichols. She is survived by her sons, Alan and wife Nedith, and Gary, her grandson, Alan and wife Samantha of Hampton, Virginia; granddaughters Chelsea and husband James Evans of Lemoore, California, Carolyn and Dennis Quinlan of Quinlan; and brother M.J. "Buddy" Mitchell and wife Jo of Brashear; sister, Dollie Sisk and husband Robert of Emory, and eight great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Since 1965 she attended Lakeside Baptist Church and for the last few years Lake Pointe Church- White Rock Campus. She was an active member of the Joy Bible Study Class and participated in LLL Club for seniors at church She had been active in the Telephone Pioneers, Atlasta Book Club and delivered Meals on Wheels.
