Louis was born on August 15, 1924 in Granger, Texas to Joseph William Machala and Bertha Mary Tobolka. Louis proudly served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He was a machine gunner while serving in the Pacific. He received many medals, but most proudly and deservedly so, he was a recipient of a Purple Heart. We will forever be thankful for his dedication to our country. After the war, he worked for NCR until he retired. He and his wife, Virginia, raised their daughter, Sandra, in the Dallas area and they were faithful members of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Louis Raymond Machala, age 92, passed away at home on Monday, October 17, 2016.
His life will continue to be remembered and honored by his wife, Virginia; his daughter, Sandy; grandsons: Rob and Rick, and six wonderful great-grandchildren!
