

A remarkable 93 year old lady with many skills and talents, our precious Louise Elmore Doran transitioned from this life to Heaven May 14, 2010, at home in Dallas. She was born December 3, 1916, in Baden, North Carolina to Blanche Larcom and Frank H. Elmore, Jr. Louise graduated from North Dallas High School and attended SMU. She graduated from Draughon’s Business College and worked for General Electric. September 17, 1938, she married the love of her life, Frank Doran. She was a wonderful wife, supermom, PTA Life Member, devout Cowboy fan, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who loved to travel and participate in water aerobics with her pool pals at CVC. She was a lifelong Episcopalian, a Senior Saint at Church of the Incarnation and active at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and School in past years. Louise is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Roger Lindsey; loving granddaughters, Kim Ramsey, Shannon Sowell and husband Jody, and Erin Lindsey; adored great-granddaughters, Hanna Ramsey and her father Rodney, Savannah and Sophie Sowell; beloved sisters, Mary Roughton and Adelina Cronkhite and husband John; along with many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded to Heaven by her parents, her beloved husband Frank, precious daughter Sally, and her dear sisters Charlotte Elmore and Evelyn Hill and treasured brother-in-law Turner. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., The Rev. Herb R. DeWees of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation is available prior to the service. The family would like to thank Dr. Maureen Gutierrez, Brooke Jones, Shannon Kelly and Linda Johnson at Texas Oncology, and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their love and support. Memorial contributions are suggested to National Kidney Foundation or Dallas Arboretum.
