Lucy is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years Lawrence Salerno, son Michael Salerno and wife Kim, two brothers, Nick and Tony La Lumia and two sisters, Angeline La Lumia and Cathy Beyer.
Lucy was blessed with four grandchildren, Lawrence, Michael, Stephen Salerno and Kristen Hipp Lopez and three great grandchildren, Logan Salerno, Lia and Nathan Lopez.
Lucy was a loyal member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was actively involved with the Catholic Daughters of America and the Knights of Columbus.
Lucy fought valiantly against cancer and asked all of those who cared for her to be recognized, especially her sister Angeline, her brother Nick, Dr. Joanne Blum and staff and Dr. Mark Casanova and staff. Loving care was given in her final days by her favorite nurse Lee and care givers Linda and Wanda.
Lucy was a loving mother and wife, friend to many and a stranger to no one. She will be forever missed and eternally loved.
All are invited to her celebrate her life by participating in a saying of the rosary, which will take place at Sparkman Crane Funeral Home at 7pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 31 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. John Libone, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vincent Aloi, Larry Vining, Robert Finberg, Mike DiCarlo, Billy Miller, Joe Baracco, Anthony LaLumia, and Stephen Satarino.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Bishop Lynch High School.
