Lucky Ortega was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Juanita Ortega and sister Lupe Chavarria. Lucky was born in Calvert Texas; moved to Dallas in 1961; decided he could not live without the love of his life Janie Avila; they married in 1962 and called Dallas their home until his death. They raised two children Michael and Cynthia. They spent their time watching Mike play baseball and Cynthia play Soccer. Lucky worked several jobs until he found a permanent home with Texas Nameplate where he retired in 2007. Not being able to just sit around, sleep or just watch TV all day he decided to go back into the workforce and work for Identification Plates Inc. until his sickness became too much. He fully retired in 2010, and became a devoted Grandpa. He was one the biggest supporters to his two wonderful granddaughters Kathryn and Sarah Cameron. He taught them many things and in return they kept him young.
