Luis Enrique Rodriguez, *aka* Poorboy, was born August 4th, 1953. He peacefully left this world May 21, 2012 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his father Enrique Rodriguez. Luis is survived by his beautiful wife, Dora “Ruby” Rodriguez, his loving daughters Maggie Mae and Michelle Mae, su mama hermosa Rosa Rodriguez, 1 brother, Cuauhtemoc, and 3 sisters, Guadalupe, Paloma and Xochitl who cared for their “big” brother. Luis impacted the lives of several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He has a noble grandson, Daniel Luis, who cherished his time with his “Grandpa”. Luis is also loved and respected by his son-in-law Mr. Magdiel. “Poorboy” always had a way to make people laugh and feel comfortable. He leaves a legacy of honesty, generosity, strong work ethic, and an emphasis on a good education. As a young man, Luis prided himself in earning his Ph.D in Common Sense which has taken him far beyond the realms of a classroom. He is known for his passion for music of many genres. And those who were privileged to know Poorboy will have songs by which to keep his memory and legacy alive.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Mausoleum. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Hill Cemetery at a later date.
