July 15, 1939 – May 8, 2026
Lydia, a devoted mother, grandmother, and a woman of profound faith and resilience, passed away peacefully at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 86. She took her final breath surrounded by the warmth and love of her children and grandson. Her family, relatives, and many dear friends paid their respects during her hospital stay—a testament to the many lives she touched.
Born and raised in the historic town of Balanga, Bataan, Philippines, her life was defined by an extraordinary act of love and sacrifice: leaving her beloved home and two young children to seek a brighter future with her husband, Rodolfo. She was a dedicated caregiver, working not only to make a living but also out of a genuine desire to care for her relatives and share her blessings back home. Every hardship she endured was a gift to her family—a sacrifice that built the foundation for the life they share today.
Lydia was a woman who truly celebrated life. She was the heart of many gatherings, known for hosting sing-along parties. She lived for these moments—surrounded by her closest friends, laughter, and music.
A woman of elegance, she took pride in her appearance and found joy in her garden, where her orchids always bloomed. Above all, Lydia was a woman of deep faith who prayed the Rosary nightly, keeping her family and friends wrapped in her intentions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Amalia; her siblings, Jose Jr. and Melba; and her beloved husband of 59 years, Rodolfo, who passed away in 2018.
Her legacy lives on through her children, Lawrence and Baby; daughter-in-law, Mavic; her cherished grandchildren, Marlowe, Maeve Lynn, Moses, and Tristan; and her surviving siblings, Tony and Angelina.
Lydia lived a full, vibrant life and, in her final days, truly fought the good fight. Her family finds comfort knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Rodolfo, perhaps tending to a heavenly garden and singing her favorite songs.
As we bid her farewell, we take comfort in the words she spoke every night:
"O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen."
