Lyla Izabella Guillen

Lyla began at Notre Dame School of Dallas in 2019, where she took part in Pep Squad, Christmas Pageants, Talent Shows, and Masses. Bright and attentive, she seemed to know not only her own schedule but the schedules of her friends better than the teachers did. Lyla greeted teachers and students with an exuberant smile, a gallop, and a wave. Though often quiet, she had a remarkable way of filling a room—leaving an enduring mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

Lyla’s loving nature showed in the simple, everyday ways she chose to be close to others. She enjoyed watching YouTube on her iPad and FaceTiming family, and her loyalty to the people she loved was steady and unmistakable. She especially loved babies and always wanted to hold the newest little ones in the family. She also delighted in sitting on the back porch at her grandparents’ house, taking in the animals, and spending time with the dogs she adored—Ash, Molly, and Luna. And true to her spirited, silly charm, Lyla’s happiness was often found in shared moments, good food, and the warmth of being together.

Her caring heart extended beyond her home. Lyla participated in service activities such as filling blessing bags for the homeless shelter and bringing canned goods for food drives. She completed her First Communion in 2021, a meaningful milestone that reflected the faith surrounding her life and the love that carried her through it.

Lyla is survived by Mother Valerie Morales, Brother Nolan Rodriguez, Grandmother Rosa Morales, and Grandfather Andres Morales.

Visitation will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N STEMMONS FWY, DALLAS, TX 75247, US, on September 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Rosary will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N STEMMONS FWY, DALLAS, TX 75247, US, on September 15, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

The family would like to thank all of our family for helping us give Lyla such a great life; her teachers from school for always checking up on her; and all the Dr’s and nurses from Children’s Hospital who cared for her. Nolan, thank you for being such a great brother to Lyla. Valerie, Rosa, and Andres, thank you all for always being there for Lyla and the sacrifices you made for her. She lived a beautiful life and we are very thankful for everyone who was involved in Lyla’s journey.
