Lynne J. Luby passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in the loving arms of her sister, leaving behind a legacy of love, caring, and special memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Dr. James P. Luby, who passed away on April 4, 2026.
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lynne moved to Dallas in 1952, where she lived a life marked by devotion, accomplishment and generosity. She graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and began her career in medical research at Southwestern Medical School, where she met the love of her life. She later earned her MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and went on to create a successful financial planning practice earning recognition among Dallas’s “Best Financial Planners”.
Lynne and Jim were devoted partners in every sense, supporting one another in both life and work. Their shared joys included tennis, travel, and the quiet pleasures of companionship and a good movie. Lynne found special happiness in opening her home to friends, family and medical students from Southwestern Medical School, where her warmth, hospitality, and remarkable cooking made everyone feel welcome.
She was the kind of person who asked about others before speaking of herself, always more concerned with the well-being of those around her than her own discomforts. She nurtured others in actions small and large through her thoughtfulness and generosity.
Her legacy of love and caring will live on through her sister, Kristina, her brother Tom, her nieces and grand nieces, friends and everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered with affection, gratitude and lasting love.
