

Mable received her education through the Dallas Public Schools and graduated from James Madison High School Class of 1960. She later continued her studies at Junior College. She went on to build a long and fulfilling career with Pizza Hut/PepsiCo Inc., where she worked as an auditor until her retirement.
A woman of deep faith, Mable was a devoted member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her life, guiding her steps and shaping her spirit.
In 1989, Mable married the love of her life, Welby G. Lockley Jr. Their union was a cherished blessing, filled with love and companionship, until Welby preceded her in death on January 1, 1994.
Mable embraced life with joy, curiosity, and an adventurous heart. Traveling was one of her greatest passions, and she was blessed to explore many countries throughout her lifetime. She treasured the opportunity to experience new cultures, meet new people, and see the beauty of the world. She also found happiness in spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will forever be held close.
She remained actively involved with her high school reunion board, nurturing lifelong friendships and keeping her class community connected. At home, she found peace and joy in caring for her yard, gardening, and baking, simple pleasures that reflected her warm and nurturing nature.
Mable will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving heart, adventurous spirit, and devotion to her family and friends. She lived a life rich with service, travel, laughter, and treasured relationships. Her kindness, her joy, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Though she is no longer with us, Mable’s legacy of love and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
On August 25, 2026, in Grand Prairie, Texas, Mable was called home to be with her Heavenly Father. Mable was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Scott; her mother, Ethel Scott; her brother, Jerry Scott; and her eldest son, Dwight E. Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carla Reynolds and Pamela Williams (Howard); and her bonus daughters, Denise Kizzee (Victor), Jo Ann Lee, Bridget Armistead (Jim), Dedra Davis, and Marcelle Fields (Eric). She is also survived by her son, Kelvin Gardner and cousin Joseph Willams. Along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love.
Her beloved grandchildren: Chandrika Kirby (Lawrence), Gabby Smith (Epps), Shenique Williams (Andre), Courtnea Williams, Kelvin G. Gardner, Ciara Gardner and Jackson Williams.
