Born on December 6, 1952, in Valle Hermoso, Mexico, Manny was the beloved son of Juanita Martínez Muñoz. He was raised in Amarillo, Texas, where he graduated from Caprock High School in 1971.
In 1999, Manny married the love of his life, Elvia Cuellar Muñoz. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and strong family values. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Manny’s unwavering dedication to his family defined his life. He was a provider in every sense of the word—generous, thoughtful, and always putting others first.
Manny began his professional journey as a supervisor in headquarters, later becoming an airline ticket agent at American Airlines at DFW Airport. He took great pride in his work and retired after 35 years of loyal service.
He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Manny had a deep love for reading, exploring new foods and restaurants, and going on vacations. He was known for making sure everyone around him was happy, well-fed, and well-cared for. His joy was found in the happiness of others.
His friends and family will always remember him as an intelligent and caring man, a devoted family member, and a loving son who deeply adored his mother.
Manny was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Martínez Muñoz, and his brother, Albaro Muñoz.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Elvia Cuellar Muñoz; his daughters and son-in-laws, Melissa and Frank Gonzales, Vanessa and Matthew Mendoza; his brothers and sister-in-laws, Ezequiel and Gina Muñoz, Cresencio and Yolanda Muñoz; his sister and brother-in-law, San Juana “Nena” and Profiro Mendoza.
He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Abraham Luke Mendoza, Ezra Cruz Gonzales, Vivian Grace Mendoza, and Vincent Paul Mendoza, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Steve Cuellar, Edward Cuellar, Frank Gonzales, Matthew Mendoza, Domanick Munoz, and John Adrian Villareal, with Abraham Mendoza and Ezra Gonzales as Honorary Pallbearers.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Calvary Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill, followed by a procession and burial at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
