

Marc H Stewart, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed gently into the arms of his Savior on July 2, 2026. His family finds comfort and peace knowing that he is now resting in the presence of the Lord. Born in Waco, Texas in 1935, Marc moved with his parents through small towns in Texas, finally settling in Gladewater, TX. Marc was a varsity football letterman and team captain, as well as being named Mr.Gladewater his Senior year by his peers and faculty. Marc attended the University of Texas in Austin where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and met the love of his life, Barbara Marie Lang. They married in July of 1959 at the Lutheran Church in Dallas and shared 66 years of love, friendships and travel together. Marc and Barbara enjoyed being members of the Dallas Country Club for over 65 years and had a blessed life, with family, travel, tennis, fishing and hunting. Marc was an entrepreneur and had businesses in insurance, travel, and held a Texas real estate Brokers license. He was always ready for a new challenge and enjoyed starting multiple successful businesses along the way.
He was a devoted husband, a great father, and a doting and loving grandfather. A member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, he served and gave selflessly of his time and finances. He and Barbara were constant fixtures at their church home. Marc dedicated himself to many different causes which included Easter Seals, Christian Embassy, and the Dallas Society for Crippled Children.
Marc had a deep love for travel with family and friends. He loved football, and sports in general and was an exuberant Longhorn, Cowboys, and Chiefs fan. He is survived by his daughter Emily Vickery; and son-in-law, Michael Vickery; his son Eric Stewart; and Daughter-in-law, Diana Stewart; grandchildren Sam Stewart and wife Robin; Sara Stewart; Taylor Davenport and wife Rebecca, and great-grandchild Allison Grace Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, parents Marcus Herbert Stewart and Mary Louise White Stewart, sister-in-law, Carol Collins and Brother-In-Law, Michael Collins, Sr. and nephew Michael Collins, Jr.

A service celebrating Marc’s life will be held at Park Cities Presbyterian Church on July 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Cities Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice in his memory.
