Maren was a daughter, mama’s girl, daddy’s girl, big sister, little sister, granddaughter, “peanut,” great-granddaughter, great-great-granddaughter, sweet, loving, funny, kind, mischievous child. She was laid-back, caring, and adored her little brother. One time, as the whole family was eating pizza and everyone was talking, it got rather loud. Maren finally had enough and shouted, “Guys! Guys!” and as she put her finger to her lips, she just said, “SSSSSHHHHHH!!!!” because she wanted everyone to be quiet down, as they were too loud!
Maren, aka Mare, aka Mare-Mare, loved her Dr. Pepper and would do anything for some Pepper, as she called it. Like any true Texan, she loved her some Whataburger. She always had to order her “Mac and Cheese and fry frys” (translation: grilled cheese and French fries). Ketchup was a must. She was definitely a picky eater. When Granna (Joanna Oliver) was around, she ran past everyone to get to Granna. She loved her big sisters and wanted to be like them so badly. She loved playing barbies and Disney princesses and playing dress up with her big sisters. Frozen was definitely her favorite movie and she would sing at the top of her lungs to the parts she knew. Accordingly, she loved wearing dresses and only ever wanted to wear her Elsa dress. All she ever wanted was long hair so she could have an Elsa braid, but at the same time she just couldn’t help but cut her own hair! Mare-Mare was the best little sister to her big sisters and the best big sister to her baby brother. She loved to help in the kitchen and always wanted to help cook. She was also a cuddler; she gave the best cuddles and always wanted to sleep in Mommy and Daddy’s bed and jokingly said it was her bed. While she was quiet and quite shy around others she didn’t know, she came to life with her big sisters around. She was the best Christmas present her parents ever had. She loved to say, “But that okay, Mommy” and “Best day ever!” She was just Maren and that spoke for itself.
