On June 30 Margaret Janette Cortez lost her battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She fought the good fight. She was 74 yeas old. Janette was a cherished Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She will be sorely missed.
Janette was full of life, and energy. She loved politics, reading, committed to improving the environment, and most of all her family.
She is survived by her sister, Elvia Zamora three brothers, Frank and Mark Cortez and Jeronimo Torrez, several nieces and nephews, and grand nephews and nieces.
Janette was not one to be idle, so after retiring from Texas Women’s University she acquired a job with the Census Bureau and then landed a job at FEMA.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gonzalezfuneralsdallas.com for the Cortez family.
