1918 - 2013
Nana, age 95, left us quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, July 30th at 7:15 PM. She is survived by her daughter Sandy, Sandy’s husband Bob, her grandchildren Tracy Kaye, husband Jeff Kaye of Dallas, Texas, Paul Bassman, wife Stephanie Bassman of Dallas, Texas, great Grandchildren Dylan Kaye, Spencer Kaye, Skylar Kaye, Blake Bassman and Blair Bassman and sister Olga Hastings of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Nana had been residing at the Legacy Nursing Home Preston Hollow under the daily care of her daughter Sandy for the past 3 years.
Nana was born January 15, 1918 in Tampa, Florida where she grew up with her mother and step father, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She moved to New York and worked as a cashier until the marriage of her daughter Sandy to Bob. Nana was to spend the rest of the time sharing her life with her daughter and son in law helping to raise her grandchildren.
Nana had a keen sense of humor, a fierce wit and an even stronger sense of determination which she called upon during her 5 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
The family would like to thank loving caregivers and the nursing staff at Legacy Preston Hollow.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1st at 1:00 PM at The Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home on Northwest Highway. The family suggests memorials be sent to:
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (http:// www.alzfdn.org/ContributetoAFA/makeadonation.

Nana will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her
