She was born on April 27, 1960. She was the eleventh child of twelve born to Richard H. Ayala Sr. and Carmen Medina Ayala. Her mom and dad called her "Mage," a nickname which stuck with her through adulthood. Margaret attended and graduated in 1978 from the historic St. Ann Catholic School in the Barrio. She attended Spence Jr. High and North Dallas High School. She married Edward Nanez in 1979 and the couple had two children, Felicia and Edward Jr. She was a Senior Security Mortgage Analyst at JP Morgan Chase where she worked for 36 years.
Margaret loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchild Asaiah. She loved to go to parties at her brother Chale's house and going out to eat with the family. Margaret's favorite hobby was cutting hair, and she was a hairstylist. She cut all her niece's hair and eventually opened her own hair salon. She also loved to do manicures and pedicures, and loved the color pink. Margaret enjoyed shopping and playing bingo. She liked listening to Tejano and Christian music, along with watching Lifetime shows and decorating for holiday events. When it came to cooking, Margaret baked amazing apple pies, made candy apples, buñuelos, chicken casseroles, menudo, and lots more. Her cooking was the greatest!
Her family and friends will always remember her as a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a great friend. Margaret was always with open arms; you could come to her any time and count on her to be there for you. She will be dearly missed by all those who love her.
